Today, it’s about pregnancy-safe moisturizer for oily, acne-prone skin. Pregnancy is when many hormonal changes happen in your body, which can result in acne, with a study finding that up to 43% of women experience pregnancy acne.
Increased hormone production can increase sebum production, leading to blocked pores, buildup of dead skin cells and bacteria in the pores, and the formation of comedones (blackheads and whiteheads) and pimples.
It is important to choose a pregnancy-safe moisturizer for oily skin that will not clog your pores and aggravate acne.

As always, all my pregnancy recommendations (at the time of writing) are free of:
- Parabens
- Phthalates
- Triclosan
- Benzophenone 3 (also known as oxybenzone)
All of the above four are endocrine disruptors. They interfere with the normal functioning of the endocrine system and the reproductive and other biological processes it regulates. - Added fragrance
It is a rich source of phthalates and is also a skin irritant, especially in pregnancy, when, due to hormonal changes, skin can become more sensitive. - Formaldehyde and formaldehyde releasers
These have been linked to cancer and are also known skin irritants. - Retinoids
These vitamin A derivatives can cause abnormalities in multiple organ systems.
